I am very excited to join the Smith Team as the Assistant Principal this year! I believe that every student can be academically successful with strong instruction and effective character development. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating college, I moved to Baltimore, Maryland and taught elementary school for 6 years. After teaching, I worked as a School Reform Consultant for The Success for All Foundation, traveling the country supporting low performing schools in school improvement strategies and systems. Most recently, I was the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Wyatt Academy in Denver Public Schools. During my time at Wyatt, the school showed dramatic academic growth transforming from a “red” school to a “yellow” school in only 2 years. When I’m not at Smith, I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog, Ranger.
